Did you ever wonder why June is the most popular month for weddings? Well here are some very interesting answers found on line.
1. Juno was the Roman Goddess of marriage. For this reason, many Romans chose to celebrate their wedding in June so the Goddess would looked favorably on them and bring them prosperity and happiness.
2. Honoring JUNO isn't the only reason why June is such a popular wedding month. Historical accounts indicate couples often married in June so they could time the conception of their first child. This way the wife wouldn’t be too far along in her pregnancy to perform the manual labor required during harvest.
3. Accounts of wedding celebrations in June during the 1400s and 1500s offer very different and not so pleasant reasons why June was the month to marry. Apparently during this period in history, people took their "annual bath" during May. So, "the overall population was smelling relatively fresh" in June making it a good time to hold a special event like a wedding!
Whatever the reason for choosing June, recent statistics show that other months are surpassing it as the number one choice to marry.
Not to worry June will always have dads and grads!

Brigitte Krause
|
Meet Brigitte Krause Brigitte Krause or "Biggy" as she is affectionately known to her Cathy Allan colleagues has been a member of the Cathy Allan team for 4 years----this time round!!! She just can't seem to get enough of Cathy Allan's.
Brigitte initially joined the team as a seamstress filling that role for one and a half years. Then family called and Brigitte left her position to look after her new granddaughter, Stephanie. It wasn't long, however, before Liz invited Brigitte to return--- this time as a member of the sales team.
Known for her infectious laugh and her generous spirit Brigitte is a dynamo when it comes to selling. No challenge is too great and she works tirelessly to ensure that customers leave the store feeling that they have been truly pampered and given close personal attention. A testimony to her terrific fashion sense and her honest feedback and advice to customers is the number of loyal followers who seek her out on their visits to the store.
Prior to joining the Cathy Allan team Brigitte worked for 8 years for Paula Lishman who is renowned in the world of fashion for her designer collections crafted from fur yarn. Brigitte was one of a few individuals selected to do the intricate hand stitching on specialty designs. She actually sewed cuffs and collars on an outfit for Barbara Streisand as well as a scarf and headband for Susan Lucci!!
Family is extremely important to Brigitte and that is why you can almost guarantee that traveling along the 407 you will see a little red Volkswagen bug flying down the highway on its way to Niagara to visit her daughter Nicole, her son in law Steve and her granddaughter Stephanie. Oh I forgot to mention that this successful duo are senior managers at All State Insurance (just in case you need insurance!!)
Brigitte’s generosity often results in her husband Peter being "volunteered" for major projects such as the design of the Cathy Allan web site and the newsletter---this is a two for one couple!!!
When not working or helping her family Brigitte can most likely be found cooking up a storm including her famous Caesar salad dressing- a treat which the staff really enjoy.
Please say hello to Brigitte on your next visit to the store and if you love Caesar salad she might even be convinced to share her recipe---well you can try!!!!!!!!!!

The Quote of
June
"So sweet, so sweet the roses in their blowing, So sweet the daffodils, so fair to see; So blithe and gay the humming-bird a going From flower to flower, a-hunting with the bee."
________________________________________________________________
"It's beautiful the Summer month of June When all of God's own wildflowers are in bloom And sun shines brightly most part of the day And butterflies o'er lush green meadows play.
Light hearted skylark songster of the wing High o'er the quiet and lonely moorland sing Above her nest cloaked by the tangled heath Her charming song so exquisitely sweet.
So mellow the gentle breath of June day breeze The birds rejoicing on the leafy trees And dappled trout in pool bed of the stream Bask in the sun their spotted skins agleam."

“It is better to be a young June-bug than an old bird of paradise”
