Meet the Faces Of Cathy Allan

Meet the faces of Cathy Allan! Below is each of our team members and a message they want to share.

Meet Liz!

Hi! My name is Liz - the owner and operator of Cathy Allan Ladieswear. Thanks for stopping by and spending some time with us! It's my pleasure to introduce you to our team here at Cathy Allan!

Meet Ron!

Growing up, I worked in our family men’s wear retail business working alongside my father for several years, who taught me many important skills such as having a good work ethic, how to treat people with respect and the importance of customer care. After a period of time I felt the urge to spread my wings and shifted my career to the wholesale side of the apparel business, in womenswear.

I was fortunate to enjoy a 40 year career as an apparel sales agent and as a corporate sales manger for Canada & USA. During this time I met my beautiful wife Liz and joined the world of Cathy Allan. Over the years we were able to work together from time to time since we were both in the fashion business, but eventually the time came to make some life changes. We decided to join forces working together full time to focus on growing, modernizing, and improving Cathy Allan for the years ahead. From this grew Lizzy’s by Cathy Allan for formalwear. Between us, Liz and I have 5 kids, 7 grandkids and we’re growing!

I thoroughly enjoy working with the great group of ladies we have here at Cathy Allan and Lizzy’s. They keep me well fed.

Meet Leslie!

“I remember the day 23 years ago sitting in our favourite Greek restaurant when Liz told me that her dream of opening up a clothing store was coming true. She asked me if I wanted a summer job and of course, I said yes! I was there when Cathy Allan opened its doors, learning from the best and soaking up everything fashion. Even when I started my career and moved far away, my visits home always included a stop to one of my favourite places… Cathy Allan. Fast forward a decade or so, I was a stay-at-home mom and just recently moved back into the area when Liz asked if I wanted to come back.

I love my job at Cathy Allan! It gives me a purpose that is more than just about selling clothes. Liz has created a great enviroment that people love to be a part of and it shows. My Cathy Allan family (including past and present staff) have taught me so much over the years about what true friendship is about. I love the customers that come in for a chat and share a bit of their lives with us."

Meet Linda!

“My husband and I moved to Lindsay several years ago after living on Stoney Lake and previously in Georgetown. I was retired from administration and office management when we left Georgetown. Once we moved to Lindsay I was bored, so I began to work at Cathy Allan in 2017 and I immediately loved working there! I enjoy working at Cathy Allan so much it doesn't feel like work. I have the best boss ever! I enjoy helping our customers and getting to know the people in our community. When not working I look forward to spending time with my husband and visiting with my daughter and grandson who live in Peterborough."

Meet Kim!

“I’m Kim and have been with Cathy Allan Ladieswear since 2021.
Previously, I worked for 35 years in public service. My family and I have lived just outside of Lindsay for the past 25 years and I spent years commuting to work, but I never had a chance to be fully involved in my home community. I knew once I retired I wanted to work part-time, close to home, while doing something fun and meeting new people. When an opportunity to join Cathy Allan presented itself, I didn’t hesitate to apply! I have always enjoyed shopping here as a customer!

The staff here are always very welcoming, fun and helpful in finding clothes that I like, look good on me and reflect my personality. I knew I wanted to be part of offering this same individualized service to other people. I am thrilled to be part of a dynamic team and get to know others in my Lindsay community more!

When I am not at Cathy Allan, you can find me spending time with my beautiful family and friends, baking delicious treats, reading and gardening.

I look forward to seeing and meeting you in the store!"

Meet Pam!

"I am so excited to be a part of the Cathy Allan team.
2020 was quite a year to say the least. The company that I worked at for 15 years was struggling due to COVID and as a result I laid off, so I decided to semi retire and look for a part time job. Cathy Allan’s was on the top of my list. I love the clothes and the people are always so kind and helpful. I knew that I wanted to be a part of this team. Fortunately, Liz and Ron welcomed me with open arms.

I have worked in sales for most of my career in the clothing industry, direct marketing and recently in corporate sales for large volume clients, so I am able to use my experience and skills to help as much as possible and provide good service. I am blessed to have a wonderful daughter who is extremely supportive and as excited as I am for me to be on the Cathy Allan team. We have made Cathy Allan a destination for her Christmas Eve dress for many years, and have always had a happy experience. When I am not at Cathy Allan I enjoy spending time with family and friends, baking with my daughter, living an active lifestyle that includes working out and golfing. I love hosting social gatherings and I am a huge Raptors fan! I am eager and enthusiastic and look forward to be a part of the Cathy Allan community."

Meet Wendy

“I am the newest member of the Cathy Allan team. I couldn’t have picked a better place to change my career direction and grow, with an amazing and supportive team!

I have always loved fashion, but went to college for accounting and business, and had a long career in the leasing and automotive industry doing various roles. When covid happened, my job of inside sales ended and I took some time to help look after my mother, to ensure her safety and well-being.

I’m waiting for a new home to be built, and ended up in Lindsay unexpectedly, but everything has fallen into place perfectly for me. I am loving my new home, and role as a sales associate. Every day is an enjoyable and rewarding experience, and what could be more fun than helping women buy beautiful clothes!

Thank you Liz and Ron for giving me this awesome opportunity!!"

Meet Siobhan!

"I have worked with the Cathy Allan team over the past few years. Fashion is my passion and I take great pleasure in helping our customers look fabulous and to feel great. I am authentic and honest with a true appreciation for quality and fit and enjoy providing valuable insight into current and upcoming trends to help our customers make intelligent wardrobe decisions.

I am a graduate of the University of Manitoba with a degree in Human Ecology with an emphasis on Clothing & Textiles and Business Administration. In the past I have worked for the Manitoba Association of Fashion Designers, a Winnipeg based fashion designer, as well as a Peterborough based designer. I was also a Senior Executive with The Hudson’s Bay Company as a Store Manager as well as a Marketing and Special Projects Manager. I am proud to be a member of The Women’s Business Network of Peterborough for the past eleven years and volunteering in the community."

Meet Shelley!

"I am very pleased to be Cathy Allan’s most recent sales associate! For the past five years I worked at Pensieri/Blues Shoes in Peterborough. I enjoyed the close customer relations and emphasis on service, that a small business has to offer. In December, 2020, the owners of the store retired and I was eager to find a similar fit with another remarkable small business. Having always had a positive shopping experience at Cathy Allan, I really wanted to be apart of their friendly atmosphere.

In addition to working at Cathy Allan I also have a home staging business. I am so fortunate to have an amazing family. I am married to Reg, a high school teacher, who is eagerly looking forward to his pending retirement. We share our lives with three grown children. Jordan, Taylor and Cassidy. I have various interests. I enjoy watching the Blue Jays, playing softball and have also helped coach a high school team for the past several years. I love travelling and home renovation projects. As well, I share a passion for musical theatre with my daughter. Together we have attended many amazing productions. One fun fact about me is that I decided to learn how to play the drums during the Covid lockdowns! Having a drummer for a son has been very beneficial.

I am thankful to Liz and Ron for allowing me the opportunity to be a part of the Cathy Allan Team and enjoy assisting each and every one of our customers!"

Meet Alexsandra!

A new resident to Lindsay. Prior to joining the Cathy Allan’s Ladies wear fashion team, Alexsandra has focused her career in service inspired customer facing positions. She has been a Special Event’s Coordinator, Brand Ambassador, a Service Manager in the restaurant industry, and spent 14 years in a seasonal small business.

When not working and spending time with her two sons and husband, Alexsandra loves to give back to the community. She has held multiple executive and board positions. Currently she is an Executive Director of a non-profit registered charity special needs hockey program.

Says Alex: “I believe every woman deserves to feel her best and look her best in casual to formal wear. I am excited and look forward to assisting you pick the classic and on trend pieces in apparel and accessories to add to your wardrobe”.

Meet Maria!

My husband and I moved to Lindsay 30 years ago from Toronto, where I have been involved in Fashion Retail my whole career, holding various positions from Sales Associate to Management.

I enjoy Fashion Merchandising and have spent several years training people in that area.

Away from work I spend most of my time with family and friends.

I enjoy working at Cathy Allan and look forward to assisting you with your next Fashion Purchases.

Meet Joanne!

“It has been my pleasure to work for my niece, Liz for over 15 years as her bookkeeper.

I work behind the scenes and can usually be found in my office downstairs but occasionally I wander upstairs and get to experience the joy on ladies faces when they find that perfect outfit.

The Cathy Allan team works diligently to help their customers find just what they are looking for. They are wonderful gals and delightful to work with, and it is especially a pleasure for me to work with my daughter Leslie.”

Meet Milly!

"When the Covid lockdown hit in 2020, I came "out of retirement" and returned to Cathy Allan to help out in any way I could while we navigated through the difficult time. I have enjoyed it so much I just had to stay on!

It is my privilege to be primarily involved with "shipping and receiving" and I have the pleasure of receiving our shipments and seeing the newest fashions as they arrive! As well, I pick, package and ship our online orders as they come in. It is always exciting to see Cathy Allan fashions going across Canada and to the USA.
It is a joy to be a member of the Cathy Allan team and being a part of the "behind the scenes" aspect of operating a business."

Meet Kathy!

For over 15 years I worked as a PSW at Lakeview Manor in Beaverton, and then followed up doing home care, assisting clients in their own home whether it be daily drop-ins or overnight. In 2015 I switched things up and found myself in the world of retail sales working in a local jewelry store and then into fashion selling clothing and accessories. These were different positions entirely from my experience as a PSW, but the one thing in common is that both areas gravitate around the fact that I am helping someone, and hoping in some small way that I will help to make a part of their day easier for them.

This experience brought me to Cathy Allan and I am thoroughly enjoying my time here. I love fashion and the aspect of helping someone to find that perfect outfit – something the customer will love and feel confident wearing.

I am also an animal lover and I have two cats and a handsome little dog named Max. Outside of work I love hanging out with my husband, our kids and family. My two granddaughters are the apple of my eye. My heart is full.
