We are celebrating Women In Business in our beautiful Downtown Lindsay!
Corrie Worden owns the well-known tattoo shop in town, Kent Street Tattoo, which she opened in September of 2013. She grew up in Lindsay but lived in Toronto for 10 years, gaining knowledge and experience in her field. She worked in several shops in Toronto including Tat-a-Rama and King of Fools but is mostly self-taught with words of wisdom from many fantastic artists along the way. She enjoys all styles of tattooing especially traditional and black and grey and anything with a graphic feel to it.
Corrie is living the dream, not only owning her own business, doing something that she loves, but also having a beautiful family, which is another full-time job! It’s a struggle for women to balance family and work life. Being able to work doing something you adore, with a great group of people, like Ainsley Worsley, and Ryan Worden, her husband and shop manager, makes it that much easier. Giving back to her community is very important to her and over the last six years the shop has donated over $12,400 to local charities.
The tattoo industry is still a male dominated field, but female artists are holding their own and crashing through those barriers. Kent Street Tattoo is a prime example of talented female artists who are making a name for themselves in our own downtown Lindsay. Customers come to get amazing tattoos from Corrie and Ainsley – they are never disappointed.
Thank you Corrie for providing our area with competent and talented artists who create amazing artwork that people will remember forever.
